This is a short-course which provides both hands-on and theorectical approach to performing security control assessment function. The training provides in-depth understanding of the federal Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the assessment of security controls based on NIST 800 series. The course covers the security assessment and authorization (SA&A) process and focuses on the primary and supporting functions of a security control assessor.
In this course, you will learn how to perform assess security controls, how to review authorization document, and how to review technical results from continuous monitoring tools. The course covers the seven phases of RMF, per NIST SP 800-37 Revision II publication, which are:
Why take the Security Control Assessment Training?
Possessing the technical competence to assess security control is highly desirable within federal government and commercial sector.
